The Receiving End

Image
Here's an awesome poem from my pal Jodekss...what happens when you are at the receiving end. Let's let the facts be being not folded Let's make the facts known in truism hooded And it's only in the light of that we shall not be Living some few ones else's lives It would be being productive by then, we not deceiving ourselves aye... Old rags in power from the past For the love of their pockets so they cast They can forecast They dream of our dreams for we Led us into lahar of confusion and seas of penury They have hoodwinked us well as many as we be They have given you youth 5 Naira only To run their selfish dreams for 'em and you know it You pretend you don't know it So our parents be sufferer of decisions they didn't fashion Our mothers in their aged still free us with their breast in action We've moreover come to school yet, to finish out of jobs option So we struggle to finish to continue to starve n' thirst to survive Let...

Cool Skepticism

Have I ever told that I read, I mean like a lot, some friends of mine call me a nerd but that's not important right now .Here's a piece by Charles Swindoll foreworded by Billy Graham. It really is something... Nine-year-old  came bursting out of Sunday school Like a wild stallion. His eyes were darting in every direction as he tried to locate either mom or dad. Finally after a quick search, he grabbed his daddy by the leg and yelled, "Man, that story of Moses and all those people crossing the Red Sea was great!" His father looked down, smiled and asked the boy to tell him about it. "Well, the isrealites got out of Egypt, but Pharaoh and his army chased after them. So the Jews ran as fast as they could until they got to the Red Sea. The Egyptian Army was gettin' closer and closer. So Moses got on his walkie-talkie and told the Isreali Air Force to bomb the Egyptians. While that was happening, the Isreali Navy built a pontoon bridge so the people could cross over.T...

No Scar?

Image
Perhaps this describe you ...you have been misunderstood or treated unfairly, probably an injury caused by some you are vulnerable to...someone you love...someone you trust and respect.Tucked away in a quiet corner of every life are wounds and scars. If there were not there we would need no Physician.Nor would we need one another. Here's a piece by Amy Carmichael who also helped heal a wound within me and turned it into a scar of beauty instead of disgrace Hast thou no scar? No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand? I hear thee sung as mighty in the land, I hear them hail thy bright ascendant star Has thou no scar? Has thou no wound? Yet I was wounded by the archers, spent, Leaned me against a tree to die;and rent By ravening beasts that compassed me, I swooned: Hast thou no wound? No wound, no scar? Yet,as the Master shall the servant be, And, pierced are the feet that follow me; But thine are whole: can he have followed far Who has no wound nor scar?

If I'm bad

Image
When I was a child, I behaved like a child as Paul once wrote. I can't really say am bad, God is the judge of that but,if I'm bad I will be wicked, heartless, miserable, perpetually cunny, probably lascivious, malicious and the list goes on... Why don't I take you back, if am bad I would have been an orphan long ago; I could probably have killed my parents and enemies, joined the neighbourhood gang, exploring every atrocities of teenage peer group ,gotten pregnant with a child, probably children with no decent Father as my husband or suffering from an incurable disease or rather a terminal one.If I'm bad who will it help? Let's say I struggled, I went to school and tried to make a name for myself but when life pressures sets in I did cave in. Had sex with some teachers and Lecturers just to get an upgrade for my cummulative grade point ,aborted pregnancies, my conscience was so battered. Finally I graduated excellently but felt really empty. My reputation was nau...

God Why?

Image
We talk faith While on the mountain We lose faith When we reach the valley Strange things happens Both good and bad Sometimes worse and worst Hence the question why? We proclaim God is good Yet we do not believe How then do we act ? Still we ask God why? We pray for Patience Yet we are darn eager And took our bull by its horn And continue to ask God why? He is God in good times He's still God in the bad times He's God of the day And God of the night Though He may seem absent He's ever present Despite provision He sent His Son still Irrespective of His fullness at time This earth is vanity All in it is All about it is So why ask the question? Why ask God why? Take on the shield of faith To overcome fiary darts Of the wicked Instead of asking why Why don't you give Thanks ...
