Your Journey In Life is Spiritual.

There was a song I learnt as a kid, which was—read your Bible pray every day—the song affirms the notion that if you don't read the Bible you won't grow but shrink and when you do read, you will grow. The song is one of the ones my mind ponder on most times and I find myself singing it to the younger generation. They might not understand the real meaning but at least they’ll get the deal when they get to.

And when they get to, it will be for their spirit, whatever you are and will be begins from the spirit. There is spiritual growth and spiritual shrinkness.

Spiritual Shrinkness.

Spiritual shrinkness can be likened to a weakened soul battered and scarred, sucked out of energy and left to die. The thing is , the shrinkness doesn't just start, it's like when a poison is taken in the smallest fraction but biomagnifies when smaller portion are accumulated everyday to the extent that it becomes lethal and yes—you know the end.

Spiritual shrinkness occurs due to our inadequacy and unwilling to rely on God's power. It occurs because of pride. When we decide to fall into temptations and take joy in it.

As I write this, I'm also ministering to myself.

Sin is like a parasite that feed on us— the host to take all our spiritual prowess. Making us shrink, and then we become a prey to be destroyed. The thing is some are graced and some are not graced to be given a second chance to recover.

Shall we continue in sin and ask that grace should abound? I think you ought to know that grace and sin does not go hand in hand. Although mercy might say no but it still boils down to your purpose on earth and whatever it is God wants with you.

But the question is —Are You Truly Indispensable?

Spiritual shrinkness gives room for the devil to operate in our lives. Not only in ours, our shrinkness makes it easier for people we love to become oppressed and maybe influenced negatively. There's this saying that, a crack on the wall makes the lizard climb—A crack in our shielded life in Jesus Christ may give the devil the reigns to wreck it.

Believe me, God in flesh couldn't behold iniquity so why will He do so in the Spirit?

Spiritual Growth

As we grow through phases physically, I believe there are stages of growth in the Spirit too—right from infancy in Christ to Maturity in Christendom. Though personally, I know there's growth but I'm yet to come to terms with the fact if we can ever be matured in Christ. Since, our imperfect self tends to fall short of these stages when we disobey God and decide to please our selves. When you see a man pleasing himself, the route always lead to destruction.

But when we grow in the spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, the lust of our eyes and the pride of life just to mention a few.

So,

How Do We Grow Spiritually?

Knowing how to is quite simple but the doing may be hard. However, habits are made.

Joshua 1:8 was one of the first bible verses I learnt before I became a believer and it states—This book of the Lord shall not depart out of the mouth but thou shall meditate therein day and night and thou mayest observe to do all that is written there in and then thou shall make thy way prosperous and then thou shall have good success .

There's a lot of point to highlight in this verse but two things stands out— a cause and an effect. The cause is that the book of the Lord which is the word of God—the Bible is paramount to Spiritual growth.

Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

The effect is what happens when you meditate on the Word and observe to do what it says—that stems obedience—our path will be like the shinning light that shine brighter and brighter —and that's prosperity mehn! 😁

In this context, the prosperity is growth. We grow in the Spirit.

Our journey in this life is Spiritual. There is always a manifestation the world ought to see in us that people ought to know and which makes them come into the likeness of Jesus Christ. They can't do that when we are shrinking away, they can only see that when we grow.

I know and I'm convinced that you feel something from this written words and you think it's a physical thing? Call it emotional intelligence or feelings but believe me when I say—Everything is spiritual we just live physically.
