What Forgiveness should be like
Before writing about this piece, I didn't what title to give but I thought on what Forgiveness should really be like.
This life is a teacher,we all know that,or should I say some of us do, but everything and everyone seems to be in a school 🏫.
The Basic One teacher was unavoidably absent and I was asked to substitute for her, even though I had a marking scheme I needed to finish and submit before the end of the day. I grudgingly accepted the request. I already knew the students in the class, I knew them by their first name, but teaching them for a week made me know them more.
Adesewa is one of the brightest female students in the class but the thing is, she talks too much. She literally wants you to hold on to her every word. She obviously loves her Mom, 'My Mom did this…., My Mom did that….' are the songs she sings to her classmates, who had no choice but to listen, unless I said 'stop making noise!'.
During the sport break,I continued working on the scheme, Then Adesewa rushed up to me, quivering with flood of tears on her face, mucus were trying to make their way out of her nose, but she forcefully breathed in drawing them to God know where
'Aunty, Aunty Ilupeju' (don't mind me, that's what I told them to call me) She tapped me and pointed towards the door
'Ramola….' She drew in the leftover mucus
'Ramola beat me, she took my paper and beat me'
I could fanthom what the whole deal was but didn't want to investigate. So I told her not to cry that she should seat with me instead. Then during recess, guess what?, You might not believe it. I saw Adesewa and Ramola playing, LAUGHING together, I was tiny bitty shocked ( if there's a statement like that). Then I thought, they're children, (abi, what else?) it must have been two things
- Is either they sorted their differences and overlooked their fault OR
- Adesewa plainly forgot what had happened earlier.
I mean, they are children(I don't know why I keep repeating that), God wants us to think this way. No wonder Jesus said in Matthew 18:3
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Just imagine, I know, you might think that this is no big deal but Forgiveness is a BIG deal. When we don't forgive we create bitterness , and bitterness grows into hatred, hatred grows into sin. However Sin is sin there's no grade or level to it.
If you're finding it out to forgive, call on God for help, he always listen even when you think He isn't.✌️
