Terrible Mistake

Many are familiar with how sin came to be, much understanding came from Bible class knowledge given in schools. Christian Religious Studies teachers explained sin as a moral offense, indeed it is, especially when you think about it logically. An abnormality in our acts warrants us to fall short of the glory of God. However, biblically speaking, Sin does not only evolve in our actions but in our thoughts – this is the real threat. Although God in his infinite mercy has equipped and empowered on this earth to be fruitful and multiply the face of the earth despite the protruding consequences of the sins we’ve committed as well as our sinful nature – which automatically causes a rift between God and us because God does not and will never behold iniquity.

Even though, we tend to imply that committing an offense as well as a sin whether deliberate or not is a mistake. Literarily, a mistake is a collective term given to an action taken due to wrong information, ignorance, and a pompous attitude which could boil down to destruction as a result of being arrogant. So, when it is a terrible one, it describes the intensity or the degree of the mistake.

A mistake is said to be terrible when it is made due to a self-infused determination which is often a result of pride, conviction, ignorance, envy, and greed. We can honestly vouch that these misdeeds don’t just happen but magnified themselves over time leading to a full-blown act. Our lackadaisical attitude, lack of discernment, and sensitivity to the leading of the words of God played a crucial role.

A terrible mistake is made when you choose to act of your own will hence rejecting or neglecting God’s will for your life. Remember these words – The way that seems right unto a man is full of destruction- the bottom line is death.

Here are some examples of Terrible Mistakes we often do;

Willingness to explore the wild side

Desperate to get rich or feel among

Desperate to know explicit things

Waling in the ways or taking the path that seems right unto you.

We do need to realize that God is full of grace and mercy yet he is no respecter of person. Therefore, let us all be wise and resist the devil and its advances. Why don’t we flee as we are adhered to? Don’t make mistake you might come to regret because making terrible ones certainly cost one unhappiness, sorrow, and even death. Even though some people are graced to come out of some terrible mistakes they made unshattered, without blemish or they aren’t facing any consequences yet yours may just be different.

Mistakes can be terrible based on the resulting consequences of indulging. Yet, it is gross foolishness to repeat a mistake let alone a terrible one.
