Will We Ever Feel Safe And Secure?
Safety is a surety of protection. It doesn't matter the form it takes. As humans, we live our lives towards attaining secure surroundings but our own meaning of safety seems to be misplaced.
When a person is safe, it means the person is indeed protected—body, mind, and soul safe or maybe just soulfully safe. I mean our body depreciates eventually but our soul may live on. Now to the question, will we ever feel safe and secure? where will your soul be when you die, where will it go too?
In this world of constant battle with the mind and soul, we are faced with surrounding human adverse elements as well as natural occurrences, as some say disaster that threatens or existence. Be it Political or Bioterrorism, insurgency, inflation, deflation, criticism just to mention a few. How can we literally be safe?
What about the war in neighboring countries that has spanned for more than 50 years? Or the most recent brewing once? Mothers, women and children are killed every day but the war makes it look as if it's normal phenomenon. Children less than the age of 10 are brainwashed to take on armunitions. While in another part of the world they are also brainwashed to commit their bodies to do the unthinkable or should I say abominable. Will we ever be Safe?
Someone said, a child formed from conception is not safe in his or her mother's womb until the day of delivery. Even an unborn is threatened. Will we ever be Safe?
When I think about all this things I literally become afraid, I mean I know no war I have only heard of it. I was fortunate to be born and not aborted, I was blessed to be safe and I believe favour speaks. But when fear comes, it comes with visual images of impending doom, a scary nightmare I will say.
This is just my thinking, I mean we will all die one-day anyway and some just die faster than others and some with different means.
Still, And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell -Matthew 10:28 KJV. In other words, fear God.
Someone asked Cromwell why he was such a brave man. Cromwell replied, “I’ve learned that when you fear God, you do not have any man to fear.”
However, I rely on God's word, the Bible which says in Ecclesiastes 3:8 KJV- A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Here, I understand that It's the circle of life, it's inevitable. So, why fear? Some people who don't experience such gruesome fate as much as others are just graced.
So, I tell myself be not afraid; instead be of good cheer. You are still alive and well. For the Lord is with us, Matthew 24:6-7 KJV says And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
It's there, all recorded in the scriptures.
In the midst of it all, if you are scared and afraid, why don't you ask God for peace, an inner peace? Let's ask for peace that pass all understanding. However, you need to know that having this peace, means you are inviting Jesus into your life, into your heart.
There's a peace in my heart that the world can never take away, it's a peace that has come to stay. Though the trials of life may sorround us like a cloud, God's peace is always here to stay. This peace is derived as a gift from the fruit of the spirit. It is the inner peace. A deep rotted ease found in our converted mind that makes us feel safe and secure because Jesus is with us, God is with us, Emmanuel.
